Jack is absolutely loving it! He feels a lot more confident and comfortable in the Inclusive class on a Saturday. I can see how much he is coming on in the past 3 sessions, the ladies that teach him are extremely patient, kind and make it lots of fun for him. I think he is enjoying it so much because of the way they are breaking all the moves down making it easy for Jack to follow and understand and he especially loves the stickers etc they give out!
We are signing him up today and have just bought his suit, can’t say enough wonderful things about it.
Ethan, before and after is completely different in how he interacts with others. He is confident and enjoys meeting new people. Prior to taekwondo wouldn’t stare and not talk to others. The instructors ensure it is a family friendly environment that is a fun place to learn with a structure.
They have managed to get the balance perfect. Credit to the sport.
Support has enabled Ryan to progress from not having the confidence to join in with classes, to gaining his 6th belt and enter a competition, completing his pattern alone in front of hundreds of people.
Taekwondo has become a vital part of my little boy’s life. It has become a hub of exceptional ‘go to’ Instructors that encourage independence, confidence and create a fantastic family friendly environment.
For the first 4 weeks of coming to Inclusively James would not stand on the mat for training. He would sit on my knee. Over time he has taken his first grading and recently performed in a local competition. The improvement in confidence has been immense and the trust gained by the instructors has been crucial in achieving this!
Inclusively has opened a whole new sport for Curtis, an otherwise difficult sport has become a favourite activity. The care and support of all the instructors is superb. Everything is clear and tailored to the needs of the students. Without this charity allowing all the benefits of taekwondo to be available then the children and adults with disabilities would miss out on a fantastic sport.
Can see a vast improvement in balance and coordination. He has picked up on the moves really well and is remember what he has been taught.Remembers his curtesy with instructors. He really enjoys the sessions and the improvement in him is amazing. Great to be able to find a club he can be included and for once not be the bottom playing catch up.
Great for them to be included in the recent competition and be the same as all the other members. Also for them to be able to grade with all the other members which really encourages them. Can’t believe they can remember and learn counting in Korean, which especially for mine is an amazing thing as can struggle learning new things.
The strategies in place have helped our son grow in confidence. The discipline and routine of TKD has given him a chance to learn a skill and social awareness.
All the instructors have been really helpful and supportive to George. He loves going to Taekwondo and really enjoyed the competition that he took part in. All the staff and other members of Wirral and Chester TKD have been really nice to George which makes coming really enjoyable.
It has given Lucas the opportunity to start a sport within an appropriate class to suit his needs. He thoroughly enjoys the class and has a good relationship with friendly instructors.
It has helped my daughter a lot. She is always very excited about coming to her lessons. She is autistic at low spectrum so being able to take part on this is amazing.
I believe this is a fantastic programme and I hope it will continue. My sons are getting so much from it and they really look forward to the sessions
This is an awesome package and I can see that all the children love it.
The charity is a massive opportunity for children with Autistic Spectrum Conditions. Involving them in a sport is an ongoing challenge so having Inclusively TKD is a god send.
My child through confidence felt uncomfortable wearing his belt and found taking/listening to instructions difficult. The instructors are helping improve this and feel without their consistent approach and teaching levels his levels of confidence would fail. His approach has become more able and even found the courage to compete in a competition. Without the help and support of Inclusively this would never have been achieved.
Hi Terri, I just wanted to text to thank you, Tina & Richie for last Saturday. Nathan loved the class and we felt that the atmosphere & approach you use is good for Nathe. What really struck us was that the children in the class seemed so happy to be there: they are valued, respected and given opportunities. It was a joy to watch. Nathe can’t wait to come again on Saturday and that is great to hear. So thank you all for making him feel comfortable and happy to be there.
The support from Academy members has been incredible but even more so since the competition on February 14th 2016. This was the first time a lot of members had seen some of our Inclusively students. These are just a few of the comments from Facebook posts
With the students from Inclusively Taekwondo ‘stealing the show’ at Deeside yesterday, now seems like a good time to remind you that my 1st run of the year is less than 3 weeks away. Please spare what you can to support Terrie, Tina and all of their fantastic students. I, like a lot of you have never seen these guys in action before but was blown away by the sheer effort & the joy on their faces on Sunday
Had a little lump in the throat when our Inclusive students took to the floor, they were all fabulous.
Brilliant inter club competition today. Just like to say how much I enjoyed officiating on ring 1 with the inclusively students, each and every one of them did so well, their support for each other was brilliant.
Well done to all the inclusive competitors, you made me feel so proud to help officiate for you, and ten out of ten to every one of you. Fantastic.
The highlight for me was watching the inclusively students, you were amazing. Terrie Johnson and Tina Hughes, what a fantastic job you are doing with your helpers.
Agreed, I couldn’t stop looking over and admiring the determination of the students.
These sessions have become more like a social meeting amongst families with the added benefit of our children doing a sport that they love.
The mix of teaching skills, technique, structure and discipline has helped James. As a consequence it has helped us gel as a family.
It’s good to meet other families with the same challenges and to be supported be skilled sports people who understand our children’s difficulties.
It’s a great opportunity for us to meet other parents and families and support each other. It’s great.
It has given James a focus and regular hobby. It has given James confidence and some social contact.
As a parent, it helps for us to mix and speak to other parents in similar situations.
Is difficult to talk to other parents when trying to watch but is good to know you are not the only one having issues and having a difficult child.
