The aim of Inclusively Taekwondo is to bring people together, develop friendships, tackle isolation and build community cohesion through a shared passion for the sport of Taekwondo.
We will help children and adults with additional needs to reach their goals and fulfil their potential in a safe, friendly environment bringing the physical and social benefits of taekwondo to everyone in the community.
Our instructors have many years’ experience teaching taekwondo including teaching children and adults with additional needs. Terrie is a very experienced teacher with five years’ experience teaching in special needs schools.
Students with additional needs are given tailored, individual support enabling them to train, progress and compete as independently as possible within their individual capabilities.
The support offered is tailored to individual needs and includes:
- One to one: Students who do not have the confidence to participate in any taekwondo classes are given one to one tuition with an Inclusively Taekwondo instructor.
- Specialist: classes are run on a Saturday specifically for students with additional needs
- Support: designated Academy classes are available where an Inclusively Taekwondo instructor is present to support students with additional needs
Ryan is the patron of and inspiration for Inclusively Taekwondo. Ryan has a social communication disorder. This is what Ryan’s mum had to say: I am very excited about this and so proud of my lovely Ryan! His confidence has grown unbelievably since he started TKD and it’s great that the support he received has now been made available for more children to benefit from! I really can’t recommend Terrie enough, if anyone would like to know more then please ask.
